Dostoevsky said,
“The human soul
is deeper than hell,
because hell
doesn’t pretend
to be good.”
But Nietzsche said,
“If you crush a cockroach,
you’re a hero.
If you crush
a beautiful butterfly,
you’re a villain.
Morals
have aesthetic criteria.”
Because sometimes
we don’t judge actions,
we judge appearances.
We forgive cruelty
when it looks pleasant.
We condemn truth
when it looks harsh.
And somewhere
between beauty
and darkness,
we realize
that good and evil
are not always
what they seem.
📕 By the way, I did write a poetry book called Between Heaven & Earth.
It’s a collection of poems about love, heartbreak, loneliness, inner struggles, healing, and the quiet journey of understanding yourself and life along the way.
If you’d like to read it, comment “Book” and I’ll send you the link.
